Spread The Cheer With Art This Year

Are you looking for some Christmas activities for your children to do? Start with taking part with this amazing art competition. As we approach the festive time of year what a better way to start it off than with an art competition.

Christmas certainly will be different this year with all that is happening with COVID-19. A lot of us are feeling anxious right now including children and this competition will give them something to focus on and what better way to get their feelings out, than a piece of art work celebrating Christmas. The Spread The Cheer With Art This Year competition was created by our young ambassador Lucas and volunteer Stephanie (Lucas’s Mum). Such a fun activity to do and keep your children entertained and happy, whilst getting them in the festive mood. Bring the Christmas spirit by playing Christmas tunes in the background or even a Christmas film (a family favourite is Home Alone), which will give them a few extra ideas for the art work.

Get creative and design an A4 piece showing us what Christmas really means to you. You can use any materials to express your feelings. It is such a nice way to show what Christmas means and each one will be personal and unique. Drawing, colouring, painting or cutting and sticking things that you love. You could even include physical Christmas objects to go with the theme.Check out our young ambassador Lucas with his festive art in this video below.

Any and every child can get involved by creating their festive art work and dropping it off or sending it to Jacky’s Floral Designs on Ashton market. Alternatively many schools are taking part in this competition so you can check with your teacher to see if your school is one of them. If your school is signed up to take part you can leave their art work with their teachers who will hand them in. All designs will be collected by one of our volunteers after they have been quarantined for 3 days. All entries are FREE!

The closing date for your entry is Monday 14th December. The winners will be announced on Thursday 17th December after they are chosen by our trustees.

We have amazing prizes to be won. The chosen top 3 entries will receive a Christmas colouring prize bundle including doodle pads, Christmas colouring books, crayons/pens and some festive characters. Take a look here below at the prizes plus a selection box!

Get creative and spread the cheer with art this year GOOD LUCK!
